Frighteningly Easy Halloween Costumes
Who said finding a last minute Halloween costume had to be scary? Time isn’t something that’s easy to find, and braving the long lines and steep prices at costume warehouses can be truly horrifying. Chances are there’s a simple, witty costume lurking in the depths of your closet, so skip the stress and scour your wardrobe. These quick costumes range from haunting to hilarious and will be perfect in a last minute party pinch.

Bulletin Board
For this simple costume, all that’s needed is a packet of post-it notes and solid colored clothing. Find a similar shade for your top and pants then write out several witty sayings on sticky notes. Try home-based notes like “Pick up toilet paper” or work related quips like “Sign off on TPS reports.” Adhere the notes all over your clothing, and add a bit of extra scotch tape to the backs if necessary. The novelty for this quick and easy costume lies in the notes; be creative and be a party smash.

Cereal Killer
The most challenging aspect of this costume is holding on to cereal boxes for a couple of weeks. Throw on a pair of jeans and solid colored t-shirt and pin cereal boxes (preferably the small, single serve boxes) to your shirt. Dabble fake blood around the boxes, carry a faux butcher knife, and viola! Instant cereal killer.

Bag of Jelly Bellies
If you lean more towards sweet than scary, try this DIY costume for all ages. Take a clear trash bag and carefully cut a hole in the top making plenty of room for your head. Cut out two armholes, and cut the cinch strings at the bottom so they can be tied. Once your bag is safely fashioned as a sack dress, fill the inside with colored balloons then tie each set of strings to keep them in. Print out a Jelly Belly logo and tape it to the front and you’re a delicious bag of tasty Jelly Bellies.

Fifty Shades of Grey
If grey is your trademark shade, this is the costume for you. Sift through the closet for every piece of gray clothing you can find, layer t-shirts, sweaters, socks, and skirts (don’t be afraid to mix and match). Pick up a paperback version of Fifty Shades of Grey to seal the look and you’re an instant pop culture phenomenon.

Spice Rack
This is a simple costume that’s big on humor and bigger on bust. Grab an old brassiere and raid the pantry for spices. After harvesting spare dill, cumin, and pepper, load the spice containers into the bra. If there’s room to spare, regress to middle school and supplement with a sock or tissue paper. Once the spices are front and center, there’ll be no mistaking your spice rack.

Zombies From The Past
If you have a few costumes from years past, this is an opportunity to bring them to life –or more accurately, to death. Pull out any old costumes (Snow White, naughty nurse, or celebrity) and put a new spin on the get up by turning them into zombies. A few rips in the costume, make up, and fake blood will take last year’s costume to a new level.

Iron Chef
Everyone has an apron sitting in a drawer somewhere, and this witty costume is fast fix for any partygoer or trick or treat-er. Dress in white pants and a white button up shirt, tie on the apron, and grab your iron. The end result is a literal take on an iron chef.

Whatever you go as, we know it will be a fabulous Halloween!
