General Manager Carl J. Ford Reveals Our Newest Spa

womens-spa-1-2Home to the Oscars and the stars, Hollywood has a reputation for being glamorous. Yet locals and visitors agree that the fast-paced lifestyle and challenging traffic can quickly cause high amounts of stress. Burke Williams opened their Hollywood spa on Sunset Boulevard in 1977 to ease tensions for natives and travelers alike, and after a fantastic run we’re moving to 925 La Brea Avenue. The new, larger location is a spectacular facility that offers the best treatments and amenities the day spa industry has to offer – and I’ve had the pleasure of watching the spa come together from the ground up.

Walking into the new location for the first time in June was amazing – but not in the way I had anticipated. The bare-boned structure was without drywall, electricity, or décor of any sort. Instead, there was a framework for what would become a gorgeous facility. Each week I would visit the spa, and each week new updates and progress was revealed. Walls, fixtures, and eventually furniture began going in as the spa took shape. Now that’s it’s complete, portraits of Marilyn Monroe and Sammy Davis Jr. hang on the walls and intricate tile work and finishes bring the luxurious new spa to life.

carl_blog-2Burke Williams Hollywood on La Brea Avenue is aesthetically spectacular and it’s home to our signature treatments like the Burke Williams Massage that uses a blend of essential oils, therapeutic heat packs, and Chinese herbs. Our new location also offers cutting edge services that continue to set Burke Williams apart, including our revolutionary Steam Pedicure and new Ayurvedic Body Treatments. We also have the new Custom Blend Bar where our alchemists can create customized sugar scrubs and lotions, along with the Style blow dry bar where guests can by prepped and primped by our hair stylists for a night out on the town.

When I began my journey with Burke Williams as a front desk agent in 2006, I couldn’t wait to see what the future would hold. Now I’m working with an incredible team to open a new spa that will leave you feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and ready to take on Tinseltown. We’re just a mile away from the famed TCL Chinese Theatre and Hollywood Walk of Fame and minutes away from some of Los Angeles’ finest boutiques and eateries. Watching the spa go from foundation to the fabulous facility it is now was a treat, and we can’t wait to welcome you into the sanctuary that will transform your day. Burke Williams Hollywood is officially open – we can’t wait to greet you!
